Applying for or renewing your passport can be a massive hassle from gathering documents to sending it yourself – and there’s always room for error. To avoid any mistakes or discrepancies in your application, utilise our passport check and send service and make certain that everything is in order so your new passport comes through in time for your summer trip!
The simplest and safest way to renew your passport is through our Check and Send service. Our counter staff will make sure that your application is correct and that you have all the information and supporting documents required – giving you peace of mind that your passport application will not be delayed or held up.
We can also take your photo at one of our branches to ensure it meets UK biometric standards.
When coming to the Post Office to apply for a new passport, you need to bring your old one with you if you still have it.
If you’ve changed your name, you’ll also need to bring proof of your new name (such as a marriage certificate). If your passport is lost, you’ll also need the name and email address of someone who can confirm your identity.
The renewal process of UK passports is conducted in the same way as it is for first-time applicants. For renewal of an adult passport, British citizens must also provide:
The Post Office will take your photo and help you to fill in your passport application form online. For a small fee, you’ll be rest assured that everything about your application is correct – potentially saving time having to change any errors or make amendments – which could turn into a lengthy process. By using Check and Send, you’ll avoid any unnecessary mistakes and our counter staff will make doubly sure that all your documents are acceptable.
The majority of passport applications and renewals submitted are often rejected because of the quality of photos – so be sure to adhere to the passport photo requirements.
At UOE, we can take digital biometric photographs that are of high quality. Whether you’re applying for your first passport or renewing your current one, you’ll speed up the process by utilising the Post Office’s Digital Check and Send service.
One of the most well-known identity verification services at the Post Office is the Check and Send and while it’s still possible to do this kind of customer authentication service with paper documentation, it’s much more time efficient to utilise the digital service. The Check and Send passport fee is £16 per passport.
